Background
Born in the depths of the Golmore Jungle, Racine was always a troublesome kit to her elders, yearning to discover what lay beyond the jungle's edge. Always in her twin sister's shadow and rebellious to follow tradition, she soon took her chance at sneaking away from her village proper, even knowing the penalty of being exiled. She set her sights on Rabanastre, having overheard stories here and there. Yet, she was unaware of the siege currently happening to the Dalmascan people and instead chose to venture south, eventually finding herself on a boat to Kugane after a long journey.She spent most of her formative years in the bustling city, growing a fascination of the cuisine offered around the various stalls and shops, even finally securing a job at a smaller restaurant. While there and trying to make a small living, she dedicated her time to learning how to cook the various dishes and recipes on the side. Yet, no matter how hard she tried to fit in, she was still considered an outsider by almost all she interacted with. She also grew fearful of the newly-instated Garlean Embassy and thus decided to take a chance and stowaway on a ship bound for E'orzea.Upon arriving in Limsa, she once again found herself very much out of place and without much of a talent to make any coin. Without much else to offer, she joined a rag-tag group of adventurers trying to make their names by taking on any and every levequest the Adventurer's Guild had to offer. While the coin was good enough to keep her fed, she quickly found her skills and want for beast slaying lacking. Having heard of the Observatorium out in Ishgard, she dismissed herself from her party and made way for academic pursuits. After much deliberation, persuading, and pleading, she was admitted to study, albeit on a strictly curated curriculum at first.Racine gave it her best to impress her mentors as her studies increased, and yet, they were interrupted as another invasion mounted on the horizon. Granted shelter in Ishgard proper while the Horde and XIVth Legion fought over Lake Silvertear, she continued her studies at the Astrologicum and even began assisting in studying the Dragonstar in aid of Dragonsong War, leading her another 9 years stay in Coerthas, even barely managing to survive through the Fall of Dalamud.Sick and tired of wars and calamities, she took the money she'd slowly amassed over the years and bought a small home in the Mist, hiding away from the atrocities and general state of the Star and opening a small lounge. Through the lounge, she was able to share her culinary skills picked up all those years ago and finally started meeting others that would soon consider her a friend, even meeting someone she would eventually bond with. But, just as fates would have it, she would suffer a string of continuous bad luck for the next couple of years. Her partner suddenly decided to dissolve the bonding, leading Racine to start spiral into depressive and dark thoughts. Another love interest would arrive and soon leave as well. Her so-called friends would start dragging her back in to life-threatening adventures and soon, her demeanor would completely become jagged, cold, and bitter as she once again felt out of place and alone. She would even go as far as experimentally augmenting her right arm and eyes at an attempt to grow stronger to fit in with adventurers. Rarely, does she put on a smile these days and it's mostly while operating her Izakaya.

At her core, Racine is a reclusive and introverted creature, usually preferring to stay at home, lost in her work or studies. She tries her best to break out of her shell by forcing herself out to social events and by running the Izakaya, but typically ends up shying off to the side for space and quiet. She is straightforward and speaks her mind freely with little regard of how the receiving party might handle her words.Racine wears three masks when interacting socially:

Roleplaying Rules
As I have put a lot of time and effort into crafting my character, I have rules and procedures I prefer to stick to when roleplaying and I appreciate their respect and consideration. They are as follow:1: Consent is Key. Racine is a finely tuned, FFXIV-based version of myself. Please ask OoCly about anything that might happen outside of casual conversation.2: Zero Tolerance Policy: I abide by the golden rule and have zero tolerance for bigotry, including but not limited to: Racism, Sexism, Homophobia and/or Transphobia, etc. This applies to both your character and YOU. I think everyone is cool in their own way and expect you are treating me how you wish to be treated.3: Relationships and 18+ Topics: I am here to socialize and write an ongoing story for Racine. If our characters mesh well and a relationship naturally happens over time, awesome! But do not make that (or anything further) the expectation. 18+ topics are reserved for other characters that take the time to gain her trust and get to know her, if they even happen at all.4: IC does not equal OoC/IRL: Racine is a mixed bag of emotions sometimes. She reacts to situations and gets mad/sad/etc. If she is upset with your character, I am not upset with you.5: Lore Accuracy: Racine is written almost as if an NPC. She doesn't have fantastical powers, she does not go on daring adventures with the Scions or topple Empires or save the universe from the next big, bad thing. She is aware some of these things exist or happen, but is quite often baffled upon hearing it. If your character has heightened powers or is a renowned adventurer, she can surely still get along with them. If your character is your own version of the Warrior of Light, then probably not so much, sorry.6: Godmodding, Powergaming, and You: Things happen. Tensions get heated and maybe a fight has to happen. Or maybe tragedy strikes and someone ends up getting hurt. In these instances, I prefer to use dice rolls to see what happens. Should your character need to fight with Racine, I have a readily available D&D style character sheet available and honor most reasonable roll modifiers. I do not tolerate your character being ungodly powerful and not able to take a punch.7: Godmodding, Powergaming, and You: Part 2: Say an RP session leads to a fight or a mishap involving an injury. It is at my discretion how badly injured Racine becomes. As she is my character, I decide any permanent or lasting injuries or disfigurements. You wouldn't like it if she cut off your character's arm, so don't try to cut off hers.8: Metagaming: I love writing her story and background and I really love sharing it. This carrd barely scratches all of what I have. I'm always happy to share any and all of it if you're curious. That said, anything I tell you OoC, please keep it that way. If Racine doesn't tell your character something, then they just don't know it. I am okay if you learn something and want to lean into your character learning it, but please let us work together to make it happen naturally.9: RP conduct and symbols: I have no problems with Out-of-Character chatter, as long as it's designated with ((OoC Tags)). It's fun to be silly on the side while things unfold in an RP session. I also try my best to respect your preferences, whether that's little to no OoC, or keeping side messages in party or linkshell chats, or if I become comfortable enough to share it with you, in Discord. Furthermore, I try my best to keep all spoken posts in "quotations", all OoC posts in ((parentheses)), and anything Racine says in a language that isn't common in ["Quotations inside brackets"], such as Hingan, Vieran, or ESL.10: Mystical Moon Magicks: Please do not ask me for any codes without intent of starting an RP session. It rather throws me off when the first message sent from a stranger is "Can I have your code?" I promise you, I don't have wild and zany alterations. Just look at my gallery if you want a small example of what she looks like. However, should we be RPing frequently, I use mood indicators heavily if you want some insight to her current feelings.
